Unknown Airman, believed to be Lieutenant Thomas Douglas Hazen who was shot down and killed south east of Bapaume. The Germans found a crashed plane in the area that Hazen crashed, recovered the body and buried the body in Rocquigney-Equancourt just days before the frontline was pushed back towards the Germans. The German records of the Airmen they found tally with the details of Hazen going missing. Hazen is the ONLY airman who died that day who isnt buried in a known grave, and was subsequently nmaed on the Arras Flying Services Memorial.
