Melinda C. Parkinson, 83, Came to Sedgwick in 1875
Melinda C. Parkinson, 83, died at her home, 847 Litchfield, Sunday morning. She came to Sedgwick county from Illinois in 1875 and moved to Wichita in 1915. She was a member of the First Baptist church, the Order of Eastern Star and the Women's Relief corps.
Mrs. Parkinson is survived by her husband, David; a daughter, Mrs. Tressa Picken, 860 Faulkner; three sons, Snowden F., Route 7, Travis C., Route 7, and Redding H. Parkinson, 135 South St. Clair, and a sister, Mrs. Lucinda Wilcoxen, Lewistown, Ill. Funeral services will be held at the Downing mortuary Tuesday at 2 p. m. Dr. Will C. McClung, pastor of the First Baptist church, will officiate. Burial will be in Highland mausoleum.
