Lewis Edward "Lou" Schollian, 93, of Bolivar died at 3:40 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, in the Parkview Healthcare Facility in Bolivar after a long illness.

He was born June 12, 1914, in Clearmont, the youngest of four children to Fred Elmer Schollian and Daisy Moreledge Schollian. He graduated high school in Clarinda, Iowa.

He was a chief storekeeper in the U. S. Navy serving in World War II aboard the U.S.S. Pasadena receiving Asiatic Pacific Area 6 Stars, American Area, Philippine Liberation 1 Star, World War II Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal serving from 1942 to 1946 and then in the United States Reserves until 1954. He worked for the First National Bank in Tarkio for many years.

He married Inez on Nov. 5, 2001 in Bolivar. Surviving are his wife, Inez P. Schollian of the home; and two sisters, Rose Stimson and Vera Thomason, both of Clarinda, Iowa.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today (Friday, Jan. 4) in the Butler Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Ankrom officiating. Music will be "We Will Ride" by Danny Hitchcock and "I Will Meet You In The Morning," "Look For Me" and "Sweet Bye And Bye" by Russ and Malinda Batten with Greg Ankrom playing the piano.

Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar. Pallbearers will be Drew Shoemaker, David Stutenkemper, Devon Stutenkemper, Carl Reser, Roy McNeely and Ron Hendrickson.
