Alice was a 1944 graduate of the Jersey Shore High School. In 1945 she married Richard L. Bay and spent 34 years together until his passing on April 20, 1979. She worked at West Company in the Jersey Shore Plant for 23 years until her retirement in 1988.
Alice was a devoted mother, grandmother and caregiver to all including her siblings growing up. She loved car rides, destinations unknown and talking about old memories. She loved to tell stories of times growing up, riding in the rumble seat of the old car, swimming in the swimming hole behind Cohick's Trading Post and living on the farm.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda K. (Bay) Rhinehart (Kenneth) of Waterville; 4 grandchildren, Richard J. Bay (Jennifer) of Williamsport, Corey J. Bay of Pine Valley N.Y., Arliss J. Rhinehart of Waterville and Kayla L. Rhinehart of Lock Haven; 3 great-grandchildren, Cambree J. Rhinehart, Cody A. Bay and Brian T. Bay; as well as sister, Nancy (John) Greenaway; brothers, Harry (Shirley), Charles Gail), George (Irma) and Mike (Lois) Sheets; 29 nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Alice is preceded in death by her son Richard L. Bay, Jr and siblings Mary Lou Straub, Emily Olson and Donna Lee Duel.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. A time of visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at Welker Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in the Jersey Shore Cemetery.
