Wayne "Scooter" Alonso Jr
November 24, 1959 - April 3, 2022

Alonso Jr, age 62 of Huntland, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at his residence. A native of Franklin County, he was born on November 24, 1959, in Winchester to the late Skeeter and Carlyne (Tatum) Alonso Sr. Before his retirement, he was employed at New Life. Scooter enjoyed playing cards, listening to music (especially Hank Williams Sr and Elvis Presley), and cheering on the Chicago Cubs Baseball team. But most of all, he loved spending time with his beloved family. Scooter was a member of the Decherd Seventh Day Adventist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Tavy Luciano. He is survived by his wife of thirty-two years, Dawn Alonso; children, Eandra Alonso, Jeremy Alonso, Tobey Alonso, Ashley Alonso, Jesse Alonso, Kylee Alonso, and Summer Alonso; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Vicky Alonso; brother, Monty Alonso; several nieces and nephews; and special nephew, Roman Clark. A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, from 5-7pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.
