" Ronald Willard Carrick, Sr. of Brimley, Michigan passed away Friday January 15, 2016 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital surrounded by his family and friends after a lengthy illness. Ron was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan on December 20, 1946 the son of Levi 'Bill' and Agnes Carrick. He was a 1965 graduate of Brimley High School. He retired from the U.S. Fish & Wildlife having worked at Pendells Creek National Fish Hatchery for over 20 years. Also worked at Wild Bluff Golf Club as a ranger and drove bus for Bay Mills Head Start Program. Ron loved the great outdoors, especially hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren. He spent a lot of time at Camp Safe-For-Deer and Camp Wannabeer. He also enjoyed being at the 'office' where he was with the 'Ho-Row' and the Cozy Crew. Ron was married to the love of his life, Linda Beryle for 43 years until her passing in 2010. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, step children, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, and brothers and sisters. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephew; special friends, and last but not least his pride and joy- his 1957 'Heavy Chevy.' Ron is predeceased by his parents; mother and father-in-law Mary and Glen Knapp and Burl Snorf ; his sister Joyce McKiddie, Dale (Linda) Carrick and his great nephew Jared Paul Baragwanath. © 2022 GALER FUNERAL HOME.
