Joseph Francis Insalata
MARCH 19, 1931 – MARCH 21, 2022
Joseph "Joe" Francis Insalata, age 91, of Bokeelia, Florida passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022. Joseph was born on March 19, 1931. Formerly of Philadelphia, Pa, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Florence (nee Casario). He was the beloved husband of Mary "Dolly" (nee Triolo) for 67 years, father of Joseph F., and Rosann McGinley (Kevin), brother of Conchetta "Teeny" Miller, cherished grandfather of Kerry Ramler (Brenan) and Casey McGinley, and uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved children Gerard "Jerry" and Maria.
Joe proudly served in the US Army during the Korean war. For 35+ years he was the proprietor of Insalata Studios, a statuary and clothing storefront display company. After retiring he worked for 17+ years at ACME Markets and after moving to Florida in 2010, for Winn Dixie.
He loved being around people, and people loved being around him. He had a gift for creating joy, even during the hardest times, whether through telling a playful joke or his own booming, infectious laughter that would inevitably follow. We will miss his wide, warm smile that would make whoever it was directed at feel special.
A memorial mass will be held at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church in Bokeelia, Fl on April 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM with an interment service at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Philadelphia, Pa at a later date.
