Shortly after graduating from high school, where he played the trumpet and received the John Philip Sousa Award, which got George recognized by the office manager at FMC, he began his career with FMC Lithium Corporation of America which spanned more than 50 years. George worked in several areas of the plant, including administrative positions, time in the Aerospace Metals Division, and eventually given responsibility over the vehicle fleet at the plant. In his spare time, George continued to be active, owning his own motorcycle repair shop, and being involved with motorcycle drag racing. He also served on the board of the credit union for more than 30 years. George enjoyed spending time outdoors, playing golf and fishing. He was a selfless person who loved spending time with his family.
