Marsha was born August 22, 1946 in Cooke County and graduated from Gainesville High School. She worked for AT&T for 20 years before working for the City of Gainesville, from where she retired. Mrs. Sheffield was saved and baptized at Harvey Street Baptist Church as a teenager. She enjoyed shopping, watching Soap Operas, and especially treasured her time spent with family.
Mrs. Sheffield was preceded in death by her parents, Charles "Charlie" and Rosa Lee (Harlow) Parkhill.
Survivors include (all of Gainesville): husband, Charles Sheffield; son, Joseph Tharpe; grandson, Michael Tharpe; brother, Charles Parkhill; sister, Charlotte Sorrell and husband, Vernon; sister, Judy Skaggs; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 11, 2022, at Fairview Cemetery's pavilion. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., prior to the service, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
