Born Margaret Anne Fooshee on January 16, 1942, in Trigg Co., Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Margaret (Nunn) Fooshee. She was a 1960 graduate of Trigg Co. High School, earned her bachelor's degree from Murray State and master's degree from SIU Edwardsville. Anne was a physical education teacher in Collinsville, Illinois, and co-owner of Granite City Honda in Granite City, Illinois. She actively volunteered her time and talents as PTO room mother, Girl Scout leader and Edwardsville High School Tiger band mom. After returning to Trigg Co., she worked alongside her brother Joe Lee and sister-in-law Fay in their sawmill as well as growing and selling produce. Anne was known for her genealogy research, love for collecting antiques, quilting, candy making, and cakes with caramel icing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Bobby and Joe Lee Fooshee, son-in-law Dale Brown, and her girls' father Roy Gene Higgins.
She is survived by her daughters Gina Higgins Brown of Trigg Co., Rene Higgins Tucker (Matthew) of Paducah; grandchildren Garrett Brown of Bowling Green, Lindsay Brown of Murray; sister-in-law Fay Fooshee of Trigg Co.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was a lifelong member of Linton United Methodist Church (LUMC). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to LUMC, c/o Faye Hainsworth, 202 West Avenue, Cadiz, KY 42211, Mercy Health Hospice, P.O. Box 7100, Paducah, KY 42003 or the American Cancer Society, c/o Dannye Wagner, 218 Lakeshore Dr., Cadiz, KY 42211.
Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, 138 Main Street in Cadiz, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, April 10, 2022. Funeral service officiated by Bro. Kenny Rogers will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 11, 2022, with burial to follow at Bristoe-Lancaster Cemetery on the South Road in Trigg Co.
