GALE, CHRISTINE J. (nee Dimmer) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Christine Gale in Halifax, Nova Scotia on November 28, 2020. Christine was born in Fox Cove Newfoundland on July 17, 1936 and was predeceased by her parents James and Gertrude, her husband Andrew, infant son and son Daniel. She was the loving mother of David (Josephine), Dean (Carol) and Jim (Mitzy) and proud grandmother of Jonathan, Matthew, Brittany, Charley and great grandson Elijah. Christine was a cherished sister to Margaret (Madge) and to her late siblings Kathleen, Vincent, Cyril, Patrick, James and Mary. Chris was a devoted mother and spent many years taking care of her boys and household during Andy's 25 years of service in the Royal Canadian Navy. She was a kind and loving person who relished spending time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed telling stories of her family and upbringing in Newfoundland and was a woman of strong faith who regularly attended her local church. Chris enjoyed shopping and was always expected to be very well put together. She was a giving person and always made a place at her home and dinner table for friends and relatives. Chris will be greatly missed by her family and friends, nieces and nephews and all who came to know and love her. Those who wish to donate in her memory may do so to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or a charity of your choice. A private family funeral will be held at 10am on Friday December 4th, 2020 with burial to follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville, NS. Honorary pallbearers will be Barrie Walsh, Christopher Gale, John MacIsaac, LaDawn Gale, Brian Dimmer and Paula Walsh. Unfortunately, Covid 19 restrictions will not permit visitation or attendance at the funeral or burial.
