He was united in marriage to Willie Gargus Higgins on March 28, 1954 in Blytheville, AR.
He has been employed for many years as a Color Analyst with Dunn-Edwards Paints. Ike was a good Christian man who loved mechanic work, drag racing, NASCAR races and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Ike and Edna Fay Higgins, one daughter, Diana McDaniel, four brothers, Jack Higgins, Johnny Higgins, Tommy Higgins and L.V. Higgins, three sisters, Bobbie Higgins, Patsy McKay and Hilda Curly Laster, one granddaughter, Sabrina Higgins.
He is survivor by his wife of 68 years, Willie Higgins of Blytheville, AR, four children, Wanda Sue Lopez of CA, Jimmy Ray Higgins and Nancy Freeman of Blytheville, AR, Sheila Marie Higgins of CA and Jerry Wade Higgins of AR, two sisters, Sharon Stanley of IN and Paulette Stanley of AR, nine grandchildren, Stephanie Houston, Patricia Fernandez, Christina Guzman, Mario Guzman, Jessie Barajaz, Jessica Woollen, Joshua Soza, Jennafer Quinn and Heidi Romero, 21 great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren and fouur great great great grandchildren.
Services were held April 8, 2022 with Rev. John Dunavant officiating at Powell Funeral Home. Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele. Pallbearers were Ricky Williamson, John L. Welch, Vinnie Gonzalas, Angela Gonzales, Paul Williamson and Nick Smith.
