This is my great-greatmother and the wife of James G.A. (Jim) Duty and the daughter of George Washington Whitlock, Sr. and Martha Francis (Mattie) ROBERTSON Whitlock.

She first married John D. Vaughn on June 30, 1887 in Cross County, Arkansas.

That marriage lasted only a few months before she and James G.A. Duty were then married on January 19, 1888 in Cross County, Arkansas.

"Annie", as she was called, became the step-mother to her husband's son, Agnew, and then she and her husband became the parents of two more boys, including my grandfather Ernest Samuel, and my great-uncle Jess, and six daughters, including Effie, Ollie, Myrtle, Mattie, Emer, and Fannie. With the exception of my grandfather, Ernest, who was born in Tilton, Cross County, Arkansas, all of their children were born in Missouri.

She lost her husband to death just a couple of months before the birth of their last child.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her step-son, Agnew, and her daughter, Fannie.

She was very much loved and missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who knew her.
