Herbert R. Maas, age 75, of Reedsville, died at his home on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008.
He was born on Dec. 15, 1932, in Maple Grove, son of the late Henry and Martha (Seidel) Maas. He married Virginia Bratz on Aug. 13, 1955, in Reedsville. Herbert served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. He then worked at the Brillion Iron Works, Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry in Manitowoc, and then for the Village of Reedsville until his retirement. He was a member on the American Legion Post 199 of Reedsville.
Survivors include his wife: Virginia; a son David (Tammy) Maas of Reedsville; two daughters: Cindi (Pete) Schmidt of Brillion; and Georgiana (Paul) Vechart of Brillion; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several brothers and sisters. Herbert was preceded in death by his parents, and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum in Manitowoc. The Rev. Mathew Simonar will officiate, with entombment to follow.
Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home in Reedsville on Thursday from 4 until 7 p.m., and then at Knollwood Chapel on Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
