Thomas Edward Garbett, of Mt. Pleasant, entered into eternal rest on April 11, 2022, after a short illness.

He was born on September 2, 1948 in Richmond, VA to the late Leslie Thomas Garbett and Dorothy Freeman Garbett.

Tom graduated from Palmer College and The Baptist College of Charleston, now Charleston Southern. He obtained his C.P.A. credentials and became a partner in the CPA firm of Hyland, Ruddy, and Garbett.

He was a life long member of Hibben United Methodist Church, serving as an acolyte as a child, then as a member of the Finance Committee, Scholarship Committee, Pastor Parish Relations Committee, and ending his service as an usher and volunteer in Hibben's Cold Weather Shelter.

An avid Gamecock fan, for many decades Tom never missed a home football game. We are left to cherish the memories and happy times tailgating and attending USC games together.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Laursen Garbett; son, Matthew Thomas Garbett and his wife Janine of Charleston, SC; brother Richard Carl Garbett and his wife Vicki of Awendaw, SC; two nephews, Ross Alan Garbett of Raleigh, NC, and Michael Paul Garbett of Charleston, SC; niece, Leigh Ann Garbett of Charleston, SC; his Sister-in-law Lisa Andrews of Walterboro, SC, and his Stepfather, Gerald Darnell of Belton, TX.
