Thomas Cecil Jackson died December 20, 2020. He was born December 10, 1932 to Nellie Opal Gary and Arthur Leo Jackson in Muncie, Indiana.

Thom loved life, lived life and embraced life. He was a wonderful man and husband.

Thom loved teaching. Let there be good great teachers was the title of one of the many books he wrote.

Thom was an avid reader and was curious how the world worked and life in general.

Thanks to all of the teachers and staff at Windsor Park Elementary and to Mrs Crawford and staff at Rocky River High School. Thom kept making lesson plans up to the very end. Every day he would ask "Do I go to work today?" I would simply say, not today sweetie, the students are learning at home.

Thom loved teaching art and making students feel at ease. He always had an open door policy and had a chair beside him if any student had a question about art, math, science or life itself. If he knew the answer, he would show them how to draw a "straight line" or he would ask who are the three smartest math students in here and he would say "the three of you will show anybody who has a problem to help them out!"

Thom and his brother Max were on the Junior Olympics in Swimming and Diving in Indiana. Thom loved his brother Max. They both received gold, silver and bronze medals.

Thom was on the USS Salisbury Sound during the Korean War. He truly loved America and was honored to fight for America.

So many thanks to Grace, Melissa and the entire Hospice team. They really gave me peace of mind and comfort. As Thom's and my primary care doctor said, hospice nurses and staff are angels on earth and I truly believe it.

Thom loved his friends, his family and my wonderful family as well. He always said he was blessed when he and I met and he became part of my family.

Thom was preceded in death by his parents, Nellie Opal Gary and Arthur Leo Jackson and stepfather, Miller Quincy Gary, his beloved son Darren Jackson, and his brother Max Leo Jackson.

Thom loved his family and left behind his wife of 28 years, Nancy Del Poole Jackson, his son Jay Aaron Jackson, mother-in-law Birshal Poole, father-in-law Bob Poole, sisters-in-law, Jan Poole, Beth Poole, brother-in-law, Bob Poole (Tracy) and their children Kristen and Brandon (Lauren).

In lieu of flowers, you may donate to Parkinson's Disease Research of America and Dementia or to the charity of your choice.

Due to COVID restrictions, a memorial service for Thom will be held at a later date.
