"Before his death, Oscar Augustus Snead had told Betty Jean Snead Gunter that his baby brother had been buried next to his grandmother in Fairview Methodist Church Cemetery near Centre, Alabama. His name was not mentioned but indicated that no headstone had been placed at this grave."

"Oscar Snead's grandmother was Mary (d 1900), wife of Morgan Snead (d 1862). Mary is buried at Fairview Methodist Church Cemetery. I have personally viewed her grave sight and seen no indication of another grave adjacent to it. However, there are no other markers close to her grave, leaving the possibility that her grandson could be buried near her. The record of this Morgan Snead's birth and death were recorded as below. The Findagrave memorial for the elder Morgan Snead shows him buried at Fairview, however, it is more likely that he was buried in Virginia near the battlefield where he was killed in August 1862."
