Russell Franklin Paschal, age 89, of Conyers died April 10, 2022. Born in Atlanta to William and Mary Paschal, he was a graduate of Brown High School class of 1950. Russell served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from Southern Bell after 38½ years where he served as a safety manager. Russell was a sports enthusiast, loved golf and especially Georgia Tech. He loved his family and his cats 'Biscuit' and 'Jelly'. Russell and his wife, Sandy, kept their 'Friday Night' date for 43 years. He was a member of Belmont Baptist Church. Russell was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Andre Denise; brother, William Avner Paschal, Jr.; sister, Eloise Bowman. Surviving are his wife, Sandra Paschal; son, Steven Paschal (Kay) of Atlanta; step-son, Brent Collins (Julie) of Atlanta; step-daughter, Ashley Blencoe (Giles) of Woodstock; grandchildren, Chad Rentz (Tanya), Tamra Pumpelly (Stuart), Hayden Paschal, William Paschal, and Ross Hammett; step-grandchildren, Ty Collins, Elliotte Blencoe and Beckett Blencoe; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Ava, Lillian, Sebastian, and Julian; and beloved pets, 'Biscuit' and 'Jelly'. A funeral service was held 11 o'clock, Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Belmont Baptist Church with military honors. Pastor Nolan Jackson officiated. The entombment was held at Westview Cemetery Abbey in Atlanta. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Russell's memory to ALSAC/ St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
