Mrs. Matilda Aiken, widow of John Aiken and mother of A. W. Aiken, died on Thursday at the residence of her son in this village after an illness of several years in the seventy-ninth year of her life. Her disease was cancer, which caused at times great suffering. Her husband died in 1875. One son, A. Willis Aiken of this place, grandson, Edwin V. Aiken and a granddaughter, Mrs. Clara Cook of Prarie Center, Kan., survive. The funeral will be held at the home of A. W. Aiken to-day at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. R. J. Tracy and Rev. Silas Ball.
