US Congressman. A member of the Democratic Party, he served Nebraska's 2nd Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives from 2015 to 2017. After attaining his law degree from Creighton University, he practiced privately. From 1987 until 2015, he served in the State of Nebraska's legislation. In 2014, Ashford defeated incumbent US Representative Lee Terry and during his tenure, he served on the Committees on Agriculture and Armed Services. In 2016, he was defeated for reelection by Donald Bacon.
