Laura was born on December 6, 1951, in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was the daughter of Leo Henry and Tommie Sue Henry. She graduated from Burkburnett High School in 1969 and attended MSU. Laura and Roy Hammond were married on December 6, 1985.
She worked for Golden Distributing for many years; she and Roy owned Gourmet Thyme. She was a past president of the Wichita Falls Symphony League.
Laura was a very Godly woman and a Philanthropist. She dearly loved the Lord, her Weekly Bible Study Groups, her Church, her family and many friends. She was a very thoughtful person and enjoyed giving gifts to those she loved.
Sometimes in this life you are blessed enough to be in the presence of a BEAUTIFUL SOUL. One that was just never meant for this world. Pure, Godly, Uplifting and just too sweet to walk this earth. We can say we are beyond blessed to have had this woman bless our lives. She was just an absolute joy to be around. So kind, so sweet, and so genuine. You could just feel her spirit and witness her compassion. She was a very selfless woman who cared much more for the lives of others than herself. Laura Sue Hammond was truly an angel on earth and the love she and Roy shared was something out of a movie script.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, mother Tommie Sue Bavousett, and step-dad Lee Bavousett; her father, Leo Henry; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Martha and Jack Hammond; grandparents, Raymond and Sarah Henry, Tommy and Alta Spillers, Gordon and Verna Bavousett; step-son, Matt Hammond; and brother-in-law, James Giles.
