Obituary for Philip C. Elkins
Philip C. Elkins, age 62 of Talihina, Oklahoma, passed away from this life on April 19, 2022 in Poteau, Oklahoma. Philip was born on December 15, 1959 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Stella (Holland) and Carno Elkins. He graduated high school in 1978 from Lone Grove, Oklahoma and went to college at both Murray State College and Northeastern State University. He spent his employment years as the water plant manager in Talihina. Philip was athletic during his high school years and loved all sports, especially the OU Sooners. He was an avid reader and there was not a crossword puzzle he could not complete. He enjoyed family gatherings, especially reunions, so he could claim he was the best at horseshoes. Philip was loved by his family and friends, and he will be dearly missed.
Philip is survived by his brother, Warren Elkins and wife Linda of Edmond, OK; sister, Carolyn Webb and husband Essex of Arp, TX; brother, Daryl Elkins of Talihina, OK; sister, Dawna Landry and husband Curt of Richardson, TX; brother-in-law, Larry Case of Talihina, OK; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Philip is preceded in death by his parents, Carno and Stella Elkins and one sister, Durena Case.
Pallbearers will be Brett Case, Scott Case, Ron Mansour, Mike Bailey, Ross Johnson, and Keith James.
Rosary will be on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 6:00 pm at McCarn Funeral Home in Talihina, Oklahoma.
Graveside services will be on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 11:00 am at New Talihina City Cemetery in Talihina, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to McCarn Funeral Service of Talihina, Oklahoma.
