William "Bill" Connor was ushered into Heaven on April 19th following a brief illness.
The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2022 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2022 at The River Assembly of God in Burkburnett. Interment will follow at Burkburnett Memorial Cemetery.
He was born in Malden, Massachusetts on April 1st, 1943, to George and Lela Paine Connor. He called Carolina Beach, North Carolina his home.
He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1961 and had many tours of duty to include Greenland, Iceland, Alaska, and Guam. His last duty station was at Sheppard Air Force Base where he was the Non-Commissioned Officer in charge of the computer room for Base Supply. Upon retirement from the Air Force, he worked for the contractors ITT & CACI doing the same job for another 9 years.
He was always a jokester and loved being with friends and family. He will always be remembered for his smile, kindness & wisdom. He was an active member of The River Assembly of God where he served as a board member and drove the bus to pick up children for church. He was always available to the church in any capacity they needed.
He loved being a member of the 50+ Zone where he met new people and developed many new friendships along the way.
He is survived by his loving wife Brenda, and children; Barry Connor of Cross Roads TX, Jason Hall (Tara) of Katy, TX, Kathy Kuczynski (Larry) of Moore Haven, FL, and Gina Hall (Shane) of Ft. Worth, TX, 5 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, plus his fur-baby Cuddles.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Hospice of Wichita Falls or The River Assembly of God at 1110 South Preston Burkburnett, TX 76354.
