The community was shocked Monday upon receipt of new of the sudden death of Fred G Ostrander, prominent attorney and former Merced county official, which occurred at the Claremont Country Club at Berkeley at about 11 o'clock Sunday morning. Mr Ostrander had gone to the club to play golf, when he was stricken with a sudden attack oof the heart failure and expired with a few seconds.
