James "Butch" is the son of Andrew Jackson Stanley (1851-1916) and Nancy Michaels (1856-1930). He married Anna Isabelle Stroud December 23, 1894 in Summitville, Madison, Indiana.
Butch and Belle had six children:

He died at the home of his granddaughter, Barbara Mae Turner Miller.
