Gayle is survived by her brother Joseph Marshall (Carolyn); sister in laws Carol Marshall and Barbara Fahmie, daughter Joanne Atkinson-Kloser (Richard T. Kloser); grandchildren Richard C. Kloser (Jenein) and Elizabeth Kloser; and many dearly loved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, former husband Charles Atkinson, brothers Glenn and William Marshall II, and sons Robert and Phillip Atkinson.
Gayle was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, raised in Wisconsin and Detroit, Michigan. As being the only girl with three jokester brothers, she had to develop a good sense of humor. Gayle attended high school at Holy Redeemer High School in Detroit. She lovingly raised her family in Arlington Heights, Illinois and later worked in the health care field.
Gayle was active in her faith, and she appreciated the understanding, kindness, and prayers that she received at St. Joseph's Home. She loved the outside scenery, the cheerfulness of everyone, and the many spiritual opportunities at the Home. Gayle enjoyed going to the movies and to the Palatine Inn with her grandchildren.
Per Gayle's wishes services will be private.
