Gayle Tee Clews, 71, of Pottsville, formerly of Ashland, died Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill E. Norwegian Street, Pottsville.

Born Aug. 20, 1950, in Ashland, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Dorothy (Connor) Orth.

She retired from PHEAA, Harrisburg, working in the accounts receivable department.

She was a member of the Ashland Historical Society.

Surviving are two sons, Scott Clews and his wife, Tracie, of Saint Clair, and Shawn Clews, of Schuylkill Haven; two brothers, Richard Orth and his wife, Patricia, of Etters, and Charles Orth and his wife, Lucille, of Ashland; one sister, Judy Carey and her husband, Jack, of Camp Hill; four grandchildren, Tristen Clews, Emilee Clews, Amber Clews and Jacob Clews; nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, at the Nice-Hart Funeral Home Inc., 9 North Lehigh Avenue, Frackville, PA 17931. The Rev. Jack Murray will be officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ashland Historical Society, C/O James Klock, 515 Center Street, Ashland, PA 17921. Interment will be in Christ Church Cemetery, Fountain Springs.
