One of the richest brides in Russia, daughter of Major General Prince Alexei Borisovich Golitsyn , younger sister of Countess Maria Alekseevna Tolstoy, wife of P. A. Tolstoy . According to Count F. P. Tolstoy , Countess Osterman-Tolstaya in her youth "was a miniature, rather interesting, naturally intelligent and kind creature, but with all the quirks and oddities of our noble and rich young ladies of the highest circle of that time " [15] . Being a woman of "sickly physique" , she often fell ill and spent a lot of time abroad, since 1818 she lived in the Ilyinsky estatenear Moscow.
