SULPHUR -- Services for Carrie Alvenia Shaw, 100, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Charles Craig and the Rev. Edward Rowls officiating. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home.

Mrs. Shaw was born April 8, 1899, at New DeRoche, Ark., to Sidney C. and Susie I. D. Emerson Thornton. She died Feb. 20, 2000, in Sulphur.

She married Marvin E. Shaw Aug. 17, 1919, in Malvern, Ark., and came to Oklahoma that same year. She had lived in the Hickory area since 1934. She was a homemaker and member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 6, 1962; a son, Irvin Leon Shaw; three sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include a daughter, Elaine Gentry, Ardmore; three sons, Elmo, Sulphur, Marvin C., Norman, and Louis H., Branson, Mo.; two brothers, Herschel Moore, Hot Springs, Ark., and Lawrence Moore, California; a sister, Leta Shuffield, Bismark, Ark.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Bearers are Chuck McKennell, Paul Gray, Charles Frantz, Eugene "Fuzz" Kennedy, Milton White and Kenneth Orr.
