Claudine Crosswhite Akers, 80, of Salem, passed away at home Saturday, July 17, 1999. She was born July 29, 1918. She was preceded in death by her husband George W. Akers. Surviving family include her son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Sharon Akers; granddaughter Jennifer Clemons and her husband Alan; and grandson Kurt L. Akers. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 19, 1999, at 1 p.m. at the John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home Chapel, Salem, with Rev. Wayne W. McCauley officiating.
Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 18, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. A special thanks goes to the Staff of Gentile Shepard Hospice, especially to Karen Gosik R.N. and Jeanne Purcell C.N.A.
