Lucille O (Clemmons) SIngleton was born October 20, 1908. the daughter of Virgil Haily Clemmons (1882–1956) and Mary Frances (Woodall) Clemmons (1885–1941).

She was married on September 27, 1925 in Wilson County, Tennessee to John Douglas SIngleton (1902-1970), the son of Isaac "Ike" Singleton (1866–1926) and Florence (Carter) Singleton (1882–1916).

Lucille was a member of Old Hickory First Baptist Church and a charter member of Madison First Baptist Church.

She was retired from Madison Mill, Incorporated and living in Nashville, Tennessee, and she was 85 years old and a widow when she passed away on March 17, 1999.

Preceded in death by her husband J D Singleton, she was survived by sons Kenneth G Singleton and Fred O Singleton, daughters Hazel York and Dorothy Hardin, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, sister Azilee Uhles, brother Bernice E Clemmons and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held at Old Hickory First Baptist CHurch, and burial was in Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
