First name could be Ceddrar?? Previous cemetery reading listed Ceddrar as the name but it is difficult to get that from looking at the stone as it is now.

Strawder and Lucy Ann Laff married in Fayette County, Ohio in 1858. Their first daughter, Sarah J. was born in 1859 and another daughter (the one in this memorial) was born in 1861, both in Ohio. Their son David was born in Ohio approx Jul 1863.

Then at some point between 1863 and 1865, the family moved to Illinois. Their oldest two girls died in Jan and March of 1865 and are buried in this very small cemetery in Illinois near where they lived at that time. Their 4th child, Mary, was then born in Illinois about April 1865.

The first name on this 2nd daughter's stone is very difficult to read.

This cemetery where the oldest two girls are buried also contains a stone for Charles Knife, a neighbor of Strawder and Lucy in the July 1865 Newcomb, Champaign County, IL state census.

In the 1865 IL census, Strawder is listed with 2 males and 2 females in the household. The two children in this census taken in July would have been David and Mary. Their oldest two girls had already died by July 1865.

Before the birth of their 5th child, Laura, in 1868, the family had moved back to Ohio.

They went on to have three more boys:
John (b. 1870)
Charles (b. 1872)
George (b. 1874)
