Rita M. Wiesman, 90, Marshfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Marshfield Medical Center.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Marshfield, with Rev. Keith Kitzhaber officiating. The service will be live streamed at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery Columbarium, Marshfield, at a later date. Family members will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield and from 12:00 pm until service time on Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Sacred Heart Parish Council of Catholic women will recite the rosary at 4:00 pm on Friday followed by a memorial service conducted by the Auxiliary to Stratford Veterans of Foreign Wars, both at the funeral home.

Rita was born on September 7, 1931 in Auburndale, to Bartholomew and Rosalia (Grossbier) Strigel. She attended Pleasant Hill School, St. Mary's Parochial School and was a graduate of Auburndale High School.

She married Victor A. Wiesman on November 5, 1952 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Auburndale. He died on April 22, 2013 after 60 years of marriage.

Rita and Vic had resided in Edgar and then Stratford, and in 1986 moved to Marshfield, where they were members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where Rita served as president of the Parish Council of Catholic Women and cooked for many church functions. While in Stratford, where they raised their daughters, they were members of St. Joseph's Catholic Church where Rita served as president of the Parish Council of Catholic Women for many years. In Stratford she served as president of the Auxiliary to the Veteran of Foreign Wars, Post 6352 for 25 years and was head cook at the VFW Hall for 26 years. She was a member and served as president of the Lady Knights in Marshfield.

Rita loved to cook and bake. In her earlier years she enjoyed bowling.

She also enjoyed playing Sheephead, watching Hallmark movies and was a long time Milwaukee Braves and Brewer fan.

Rita is survived by five daughters, Virginia "Jeanie" Wiesman and Susan Schiferl, both of Marshfield, Cindy Zvolena of Loyal, Lois (Gary) TeStrake of Marshfield, and Vicki (Matt) Kuehnold of Auburndale. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Stacy, Alison, Sarah, Amy, Brian, Christina, Andrew, Lee, Amber, Kurt, Cody and Amanda and 21 great grandchildren, Braden, Audriana, Evan, Mason, Xavier, Kade, Owen, Nathan, Stephanie, Alivia, Dylan, Erica, Ireland, Ruth, John, Sarah, Izabel, Illiyana, Zayden, Wallace, and Mae.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son-in-law, John Zvolena, brothers, Louis, Fritz, Ed, Paul and Victor Strigel, sisters, Louise Bock, Mary Held, Doris Hensen, Jeanette Strigel, Agnes Holland, Dorothy Davidson, Cecelia Puskarich, Claire Thome and Gertie Mancl.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the 3 North staff at Marshfield Medical Center.

Memorials may be designated in Rita's name to the Future Family Life Program at Sacred Heart Parish, which is a plan to construct a place for education, meetings and social gatherings.
