Cody was named after his godfather, Jerome Mitchel. Jerome was a fellow competitive shooter of his dad's, Duane. Cody loved to go to the weekend shooting competitions. His first match was when he was six weeks old. He was very social; the more people the better and he liked it. The people always brought treats to the competitions just for Cody. He never could turn down a breakfast taco or anything sweet. He even got a treat box stuck on his head one time. When he didn't attend a competition people asked where he was. He had a big following.
His brother Dutch Chocolate arrived in 2018. They were almost twins. Dutch followed Cody everywhere. Cody loved riding in a car and being close to daddy Duane.
Many of the competitive shooters have been saddened by Cody's passing. He has crossed the Rainbow Bridge and is waiting for the rest of us.
