Palo Alto Tribune 15 Nov 1933: Willard L. Layman:
Willard Lafayette Layman died at his home at Cylinder Thursday, Nov. 9, after an illness of about two years with spinal trouble. ( Multiple Sclerosis) The funeral was held Saturday from the M. E. Church at Cylinder. Rev. O. G. Smith officiated. The pallbearers were O.P. Randa, Ed Ihle, Earl Hayes, Art Dowd, Charles Latham and Mark Frederick. Mr. Layman was born in Indiana November 16, 1886. Since coming to this county he has lived at Emmetsburg and Cylinder. On Nov. 6, 1907, he united in marriage with Grace Mounts. Four children were born to them. Morton died at the age of 11 months, and 24 days. Kermit Lives at Long Beach, Cali. Earl B. at Elmore, Minn. , and Helen at Tulsa Okla. The Tribune extends sympathy to bereaved Relatives.
