Son of the late Sam and Rose (Veltre) Machrone, he was born and raised in Kenilworth, Mr. Machrone moved to Cranford 43 years ago. He was a plumber for Volco Brass and Copper Works, Kenilworth, for 35 years. After that, he was a custodian for both Jonathan Dayton High School, Springfield, and David Brearley High School, Kenilworth, for 10 years. Mr. Machrone was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked very hard to support his family so mom could rear the children. He sometimes worked 3 jobs, and did all the construction work around the house in his off time.
