Recent DNA results suggest that Elizabeth is the daughter of Letitia Cooper, aunt of James Fenimore Cooper. Letitia was the 2nd wife of Joseph Ashton, who she married on 1 Jan 1775. Elizabeth's birth date in 1772, if correct, suggests that Joseph Ashton may be her stepfather.

On the 8th inst, after a long and severe illness, Mrs. Elizabeth White, in the 73rd year of her age.
Her friends, and those of the family, are respectfully invited to attend her funeral, from her late residence, Schuylkill Seventh Street, five doors below Vine, this morning, at 10 o'clock.
