American actress of films and television. She was the daughter of Omaha-area plumber Samuel Yousen and his wife Anne. She was most active in television, primarily in the then-popular Western genre of the early to mid-1960s. She acted in a half-dozen episodes of "The Rifleman," romancing Chuck Conners' "Lucas McCain" title character. Other Western tv shows she appeared in included "Have Gun--Will Travel," "Wichita Town," "Johnny Ringo," "The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp," "Wanted--Dead or Alive" and "The Big Valley." Appearances in non-Western tv included "Burke's Law," "The Farmer's Daughter," "The Detectives," "The Donna Reed Show," "Perry Mason" (in the episode "The Case of the Bare-faced Witness") and "Cannon." She appeared occasionally in films, such as "Johnny Rocco" (1958), "Geronimo" (1962, in the role of Huera) and "Brannigan" (1975). She sometimes acted under the name Enid Janes, but more often used the Jaynes spelling. She was married to film-tv producer Jules Levy from 1953 to December 27, 1978; then to Dr. Sanford M. Shapero from November 24, 1979 to January 4, 1982. Both marriages ended in divorce. She died at her home in Rancho Mirage, California, at 78.
