Moscow -- Gerald P. McGough, a. Moscow native and resident until 1970, killed himself with a gun Tuesday at Boise. He was 43.

McGough was born to Ray and Rose McGough at Moscow on Jan. 31, 1935. He attended Moscow schools and served in the Moscow Fire Department for 10 years.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, served four years in the U.S. Coast Guard, and four years in the Idaho National Guard.

On Aug. 29, 1959, he married Bonnie Barney at Shoshone. While they lived at Moscow, he was employed by the Carnation Co.

In 1970, they moved to Caldwell. He was working for the Nelson-Deppe Construction
In addition to his wife at Caldwell, McGough is survived by two sons, Barry and Dean, both of Caldwell; and three brothers, Norman of Moscow, Richard of Bellevue, Wash., and Donald of Boise.

One sister preceded him in death.

A service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church at Moscow. The Rev. Kenneth Arnzen will officiate and burial will follow at Moscow Cemetery under the direction of Short's Funeral Chapel.
