Ronald E. Stevens, 53, of West Salem, died Saturday, January 12, 2008, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital. He had been in poor health for several months.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at Ingram Funeral Home in West Salem. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lick Prairie Cemetery in Wabash County.

Mr. Stevens was born July 4, 1954, in Mt. Carmel, the son of Robert and Elizabeth Stevens.

He was a truck driver and helped on the family farm when his health permitted.

Mr. Stevens is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Stevens, of West Salem; sister, Janet Porterfield, of Ft. Myers, Fla.; brother, Roger Stevens, of West Salem; daughter, Crystal Hurt, and grandson, Lucas, of Phoenix, Ariz.; nephew, Gavin Stevens, of Olney; aunt, Pearl Stevens, of Lawrenceville; and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert, of West Salem; grandparents, Claude and Katie Stevens, of Wabash County, and Earl and Rena Ridens, of Bone Gap; aunt, Edna Pattillo, of Florida; and uncle, Herman Stevens, of Wabash County.
