She was born October 20, 1937 in Moulton, Alabama, the daughter of Leonard W. Hill and Cora Lee (Hayes) Hill. Lagatha was thrilled anytime she was able to take a trip to the casino. She was very close with her family and enjoyed the times spent with the grandchildren. Although she did not necessarily bake a lot of cookies, she did love trying cookies of all kinds. After retiring from Knouse Foods with 35 years of service, Lagatha enjoyed watching Alabama Football and NASCAR Racing.
Lagatha is survived by her son, Thomas Beck; daughter, Sally (Dan) Boothby, six grandchildren, Jamie (JJ) Johnson, Nikki Austin, Jordan Boothby, Tommi (Jr ) Beck, Amanda (Jason) Beck and Justin Boothby; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, James (Mary) Hill and Nathan (Judy) Hill; one sister, Deborah Hill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Jackson Beck, her daughter, Loretta Beck, brother, Rayburn Hill, and sisters, Caroline Miller and Sandra Hill, along with her cat Baby, that was her close companion.
The family will receive friends Saturday, May 21, 2022, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave., Paw Paw, where a funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Hill Cemetery, Lawrence.
