Westvaco Retiree Was Parrish Court United Methodist Church Member
Robert Roscoe Campbell Jr., 86 of 1304 Potts Creek Road, Covington, Virginia, died Monday, May 16, 2022 at the Brian Center Rehabilitation and Nursing Care in Low Moor.
Mr. Campbell was born on July 11, 1935 in Alleghany County, the son of the late Robert R. Campbell Sr. and Beulah Atkins Campbell.
He retired after 41 years from Westvaco in the Bleach Department.
He was a member of the Parrish Court United Methodist Church where he was part of the Men's Fellowship and Choir. He was a charter member of the Boiling Spring Fire and Rescue, and with the Virginia National Guard. He enjoyed camping as well as listening to music.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Nellie Wright Campbell of Covington; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl Dressler and husband, Richard and Kathy Black and husband, David, all of Covington; a son and daughter-in-law, Randall Campbell and wife, Sherri of Gap Mills, WV; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, May 23, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Kropff officiating.
The family will receive their friends on Sunday afternoon from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home.
The interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.
