NOEL, JOHN W., 80, of Louisville, passed away Monday, January 14, 2008, at Norton Audubon Hospital. He was a native of Altoona, PA and a member of Beth Haven Baptist Church. He was a retired Army veteran of World War II and the Civil Service and also a member of the Blevins Gap VFW Post 1181.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Vyrl Jane Noel. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Viola Trimble Noel; nine children, his sons, John (Maralyn), Donald (Liz), Dennis (Deanna), Gary (Sherry) Noel; daughters, Bonnie Thornhill (Donnie), Mary Beth Weaver (Michael), Barbara Wheless (Joey), Denise Wheeler (James) and Vicki Cabe (Max); 23 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy. Entombment in Evergreen Mausoleum. Visitation: 5-9 p.m. on Thursday.
