Ruby Doris (Glass) Willis, 97, of Scottsville, passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday, May 15, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born on December 8, 1924, to the late Samuel B. and Hilda L. (Neale) Glass in Fluvanna County, Virginia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Smith Austin Willis, Sr.; 2 sisters, Leona Willis and Audrey Seay; and a son, Smitty Willis, Jr.
Ruby was a sweet, sweet soul who enjoyed gardening, sightseeing and birdwatching in her free time. She was always so excited for her daily car rides; she appreciated nature and loved the outdoors. She was quiet, but always had a smile on her face and was kind to just about everyone that she encountered. Mrs. Ruby will truly be missed by all that knew her.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Ann Willis of Scottsville; a son, David Glenn Willis (Robbin Pearson) of Scottsville; a sister, Doris Graves of Waynesboro; 3 grandchildren, Garrett Willis (Jessica) of Schuyler, Sheila Willis of Fluvanna and Brian Willis (Carol) of Scottsville; 4 great grandchildren, Daniel, Kaylee, Alyssa and Grady; a niece, Wanda Massi of Fluvanna; a daughter in-law, Marie (Haislip) Willis; along with a host of extended family members and friends.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 20, 2022, at the Scottsville Cemetery. Pastor Dakota Stewart will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of the Piedmont at 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911 or directly to the family.
