Leland Alan Jackoway, 78, of Richmond, passed away on January 15, 2008.

He was born in St. Louis, MO. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Emily Jackoway; and his sister, Judith Duke.

He spent most of his career in broadcasting. He was sales manager and general manager at WRNL before moving on to television syndication.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Ellen Reinhard Jackoway; his son, James R. Jackoway and his wife, Michele, of Los Angeles, CA; his daughters, Paula J. Young of Lafayette, CO and Laura J. Ludvigsen and her husband, Christopher, of Richmond; six grandchildren, Kathryn and Robert Alan Ludvigsen, Jed and Jess Jackoway and Megan and Melissa Mulrooney; six nephews and one niece.

He was a member of Congregation Beth Ahabah, Beth Ahabah Brotherhood and Tuckahoe Masonic Lodge No. 347 AF&AM, where he served as Master in 1996. He was also a member of the Richmond Scottish Rite and served as Venerable Master in 1998. He was also a member of ACCA Temple Shrine.

The family wishes to thank the nurses, aides and staff of the Beth Sholom Home of Virginia, for their professional and tender loving care.

A Masonic memorial service was held on Thursday, January 17, 2008, at 7pm, with visitation following at the West Chapel, Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 W. Broad Street, also where the funeral service was conducted on Friday, January 18, 2008, at 11am, with burial following at Hebrew Cemetery.
