He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Julia Underwood Alexander of Lyons; two daughters: Mrs. R.H. Payne of Atlanta and Mrs. W.R. Barrett of Savannah; four sons: Truman Alexander of Jacksonville, Dickie Alexander of Lyons, Lt. Col. Russell Alexander of St. Paul, Minn. and C.V. Alexander, Jr. of Clarksville, Tenn.; three brothers: Rufus Alexander, Sim Alexander and Velton Alexander, all of Lyons; five sisters: Mrs. Chelma Kirkland, Mrs. Bessie Jones and Mrs. Eunice Hardwick, all of Lyons, Mrs. Theo Jones of Uvalda and Mrs. Mary McKnight of Hurst, Texas. 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Hardens Chapel Methodist Church, with interment in the church cemetery. Rev. Don McGee and Dr. Max Hill officiated.
Active pallbearers were nephews.
Trapnell-Jones Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
