Richard John Lutters, 62, died May 19, 2022 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. He was born February 8, 1960 in Ransom, Kansas, the youngest son of Joseph F. and Marcella (Kraus) Lutters.

Rich was a member of the St. Aloysius Church and the Knights of Columbus, both of Ransom. He was a farmer at heart; he loved all aspects of farming and his work. Rich thoroughly enjoyed working with the community farming and ranching friends. Rich loved his family and loved calling and talking with them.

Rich is survived by three brothers and seven sisters: Joe (Patti) Lutters, Ness City, KS; Mary (Melvin) Funk, Nortonville, KS; Carol (George) Dunbar, Buena Vista, CO; Jeanette Hornung, Dodge City, KS; Ed (Terri) Lutters, Buena Vista, CO; Geri (Kent) Offutt, Coldwater, KS; Barb (David) Summers, Garden City, KS; Bill Lutters, Ness City, KS; Kathy (Richard) Sunley, Ransom, KS; and Debbie (Ron) Wantland, Pueblo, CO. Rich is survived by numerous nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces, and great-great nephews and nieces.

Rich was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jim, and his infant sister, Cecilia.

Viewing will be held at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City, on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be held at St. Aloysius Church, Ransom, at 6:30 p.m. followed by the Parish Vigil. The funeral will be held at the church on Thursday, May 26, 2022, 10:30 a.m. followed by burial in the St. Aloysius Cemetery, Ransom.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Ransom Fire Department. Memories and words of support can be left for the family by writing in the guest book.
