Catherine Marie Amendolaro Woehrle, 87, of Moscow, died Sunday afternoon at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton. She was the widow of Willard Woehrle, who died Oct. 26, 2007.

Born in Dunmore, daughter of the late Sylvester and Donata "Mamie" Telesco Amendolaro, she was educated in the Dunmore School District. Upon the death of her beloved mother Mamie in 1940, Catherine, at the age of 14, assumed the role of caregiver for her father and siblings, a role she cherished and continued with her own husband and children.

In 1959, Catherine started Kay's Pizza in Fair Lawn, N.J. Over the years her family grew, six children in total, and they all helped in the family business, where they were taught family values and a hard work ethic. In 1968 her daughter Sandra took over the operations of her restaurant in Fair Lawn. Then, after returning to Pennsylvania in 1974, she opened Kay's Pizza in Daleville. Later, in 1981, she helped her son Randy establish Kay's in Lake Ariel. Then in 1986 her son Walter assumed operation of the Daleville restaurant. Her son Willard Jr. also owned and operated Willie's Pizza in Gouldsboro from 1993 to 2003. Until 2010 she was still the "Ravioli and Soup Lady" at her family's restaurants. Her family was her life and she made everyone feel as if they were the most important person and always put others ahead of herself.

She is survived by her six children, Sandra Gillman and her husband, Bill, Hawley; Brian Woehrle and his wife, Jill, Milford; Willard Woehrle Jr. and his wife, Dolores, Gouldsboro; Randall Woehrle and his wife, Carole, Lake Ariel; Walter Woehrle and his wife, Diane, Moscow; Annie Eyler-Beers and her husband, Kevin Beers, Scranton; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Pat and Jennie Amendolaro, Elmhurst; Joseph and Annette Amendolaro, Elmhurst; Vito Amendolaro, Dunmore; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jim (Jakie); and a sister, Grace.
