KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A man died at the scene of a 3-car crash which happened at 10:12 a.m., Monday morning May 23, 2022 in Excelsior Springs.
A Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report stated 30-year-old Richard Arthur Dobbins III of Excelsior Springs, MO was driving (Veh1, a 2000 Dodge) on U.S. Highway 69 at north Jesse James Road when he failed to yield to a lighted intersection. He was wearing no seatbelt, and had no insurance.
Dobbins struck (Veh2, a 2012 Nissan) driven by 32 yr old Michael P Neary of Lawson, MO, on the passenger side. (Drv2) was wearing a seatbelt and had insurance.
(Veh2) then struck the front of (Veh3, a 2019 Chevrolet driven by 54 yr old Jon W. Webber of Cameron, MO) who was also wearing a seatbelt and had insurance.
(Veh1) overturned into a ditch, ejecting Dvr1. Dvr1 was pronounced dead at 10:19 am. by Paramedic Scott Guthrie, assisted by Trooper C.M. McDonald (792) and Msgt R.A. Wood (788).
The driver of (Veh3) Chevrolet suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital. All three vehicles were totaled.
