On July 6, 1952, Jim was baptized at Saint Cecilia's Catholic Church by the Reverend Father J.J. McDonald. Many years later on February 4, 2022, he was once again baptized in his home, upon the profession of his faith, by Pastor Chris Webb.
Jim was a three-time cancer survivor and a 12-year Whipple Warrior. During the course of his life, he met and married his first wife and together they raised four children.
He married his second wife on January 6, 2013 on the beach in Cocoa Beach, Florida. He, wanting to be married on the Epiphany and she, wanting to be married on the beach, they exchanged vows including the vow, "Always and Forever, Life and Longer, Till Death Starts Us Over". They enjoyed many years together. Together they raised his wife's three children, joining these seven children are four grandchildren.
Jim served many patients over the course of 47 years as a community pharmacist. He also enjoyed the hobbies of fishing, hunting, photography and sport shooting. Sport shooting became his most passionate hobby as he developed a master skillset in the sport of pistol shooting. He began the Bandera, Texas IDPA chapter, alongside friends. On the range, with his love for the color yellow, he earned the nickname "Big Bird". He proudly wore this nickname as a badge of honor.
While shooting, Jim met and developed two special friendships that would turn into a bond of brotherhood. This brotherhood led them to become the "Los Tres Amigos".
Jim leaves behind his wife, children, grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

Tribute to Jim:
"Jim, Big Bird, my friend, my brother from another mother, my sport shooting buddy, my riding buddy, I miss you. You were passionate about everything you did. You always picked people up, never cut anyone down. Your vast medical knowledge was appreciated by those that needed some on the spot advice. Wherever you went, you created smiles, you created excitingly intellectual conversations, and you brought warmth to the room. You left us too early. There were more roads to ride, more holes-in-the-wall restaurants to eat at, and many more activities to pursue. Your interactions with the people we met along our travels were always genuine and you always provided wise advise. You left each place a better place because you were there. When you discovered at a restaurant that a server was struggling with life's challenges, you left an extra tip, an extra smile, an extra counsel. We will meet again. Rest In Peace." Colonel Phil
